The Maui Food Bank welcomes food donations from food distribution companies, wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, farmers, farmer’s markets and individuals.
Food Distribution Companies and Stores
Donating surplus inventory to the Maui Food Bank is safe, efficient and cost effective. Food product donations reduce warehouse storage and dumping costs. The food bank accepts dry goods, canned goods, refrigerated items, frozen food items, fresh produce and prepared food items. The food Bank will pick up your donations free of charge. If you have a food donation please call our Operations department at 243-9500.
The Maui Food Bank’s Prepared Food Recovery program collects quality, safe and nutritious un-served prepared food and baked goods. This food is delivered free of charge to agencies and organizations that serve the hungry.
Farmers & Farmer’s Markets
We believe that fresh produce is something that everyone should have access to. The food bank picks up fresh produce from local farmers, produce wholesalers, retail grocers and farmer’s markets. We provide same day deliveries of fresh fruit and vegetables to our member agencies. Many local farmers bring their fresh produce donations to the food bank where it is immediately stored in commercial refrigerators.
Individuals can easily make food donations to the Maui Food Bank. All un-opened, non-perishable food items may be dropped off at any local fire station or may be brought to the Maui Food Bank, located at 760 Kolu St., Wailuku (in the Wailuku Industrial Park.) Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm
Food donations made to the Maui Food Bank are covered by the national Good Samaritan laws. Food product donations generate tax benefits for participating businesses.
