Hunger 101 is a tool you can use to learn about hunger in Maui County. In Just one hour, you can learn why so many people in our island community are struggling to make ends meet. Hunger 101 is a hands-on learning experience designed for groups of 15 – 40 people. In this program, you take on the role of a low-income person in Maui County. Your challenge is to manage your resources and get enough food to feed your family—at a simulated grocery store, soup kitchen, or food stamp office. Your experience will guide an informational discussion about hunger in Maui County.

Businesses, congregations, community groups and schools throughout Maui have participated in Hunger 101. Based on the enthusiastic response we have received, we believe that Hunger 101 is a fun and thought provoking way to learn more about hunger in our community.

This free program is geared toward adults and children age ten and older. If you would like further information regarding Hunger 101 please contact us at 808-243-9500.
