Give Healthy Food Drive

Mayor’s Give Healthy Food Drive Challenge

April 1st–October 31st, 2019

Maui Food Bank Give Healthy Food Drive

The Give Healthy Food Drive is a new Maui Food Bank initiative that offers the people we serve healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, and lean proteins. Through Give Healthy Food Drives, we are able to provide nutritious foods for the 10,000 people we serve every month.

By choosing to Give Healthy food items as local food drives, you will help alleviate hunger and support the well-being of the people we serve. Help save lives by preventing heart disease, obesity, and Type 2 diabetes among Hawaii’s most food-insecure and at-risk population.

The Mayor’s Give Healthy Challenge is in partnership with the Blue Zones Project, County of Maui, and HEAL (Healthy Eating Active Learning).

How to Participate as an Organization:

The goal of the Mayor’s Challenge calls for 19 organizations in Maui County to commit to adopting the Maui Food Bank’s Give Healthy Guidelines for future food drives. Participating organizations shall conduct a healthy food drive between April 1–October 31, 2019.

We still have a few spots available for organizations to participate — call (808) 243-9500 to learn more about how to join in!

How to Contribute to a Food Drive:

Make a food or financial donation to a participating Give Healthy food drive in your area!

Choose these non-perishable foods to donate: low-sodium protein, whole grains, shelf-stable milk, fruits, and vegetables.

Mahalo for your commitment to the health and well-being of those in need!
