Chocolate Kuleana — Serving Our Community
In the Hawaiian language, kuleana can be defined as accepting responsibility with understanding and intent. It is a value or a way of thinking that gives one a sense of ownership and accountability or carrying out certain responsibilities, and it becomes one’s privilege to do so. We welcome you to enjoy a signature, guided chocolate tasting while also giving back to our community!
Enjoy an in-person, curated chocolate tasting at the Ku‘ia Pavilion at the Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate Factory in Lahaina, Maui.
During the tasting, you will learn all about Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate — including how chocolate is made, how they farm cacao, and why their factory is 100% powered by the sun. The 9-Flavor Tasting will include 9 pieces selected from their 65% Dark and 65% Dark Milk Costa Esmeraldas, Ecuador single origin chocolate, and three of their 2020 Limited Release single origin chocolates.
Reservations are required and tickets may be purchased online using the button below. Tastings that benefit the Maui Food Bank are currently held weekly on Saturdays at 12:30pm.
Maui Ku‘ia Estate will be generously donating the tasting fees from the Saturday tastings to the Maui Food Bank. They will also be donating the tasting fees to the Maui Food Bank from a special Sunday tasting on October 24th, 2021 at 12:30pm.
To date since February 2019, Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate has donated $44,913 to Maui Food Bank. Mahalo for your support!
